LinMo on cellular devices seems uncertain

All the recent talk about what devices will be powered by the Mobile version of Linux from Ubuntu has prompted a response from Ubuntu. They have stated that mobile phone based devices are basically not the target, that their partnership with Intel will mean a strong focus on MID's or mobile internet devices. The type of device one can carry with them, in pad or tablet format such as these devices listed on Intel's page.

The TabletKiosk eo* i7210 and eo* i7209 UMPC devices offer powerful PC computing capabilities with their Pentium and Celeron processors in a small, ultra portable size. Great for productivity tasks as well as for hours of entertainment. Docking cradle complements the product for greater user flexibility.

While development continues, I personally expect much more cross platform usability. As with everything else in the technology world it may be up to the end users to develop and implement different packages for use on other devices. I think the future of LinMo is very promising and exciting.
